GREAT taste but RETARDED design, why would they make a water filter which has an open spout, into which dust or food particles can drop into and go right into the filtered water. A simple extension of the top lid to cover the spout would be all it takes to fix!!! Way to go!
BTW the LED in the lid is stupid – it means there is a battery, probably lithium, inside the lid. So guess what – that means the lid, when disposed of, constitutes toxic waste. Great idea but NOT ENVIRONMENTAL whatsoever. Lithium is extremely toxic even in the very small amount that is in the battery in the lid.
Plus the LED indicator in the lid is, as one might expect, likely to tell you prematurely that its time to change the filter, encouraging you to buy more filters.
Summary: great filtering product saddled by a retarded project manager who accepts the idea that filtered water should remain in a container with an opening for things to fall into the water, and a non-GREEN-thinking company that doesn’t have basic knowledge of batteries as toxic waste. American Ingenuity at its best!!! Yay!!! John McCain all the way!!!

I am delighted(enchanted) with this product, it is necessary to buy it, the drip goes away with a tape of teflon.

The water tastes great from this pitcher. But it started leaking almost immediately and now after about 1.5 years it is starting to fall apart. I really don’t know what could be so hard about making a quality plastic pitcher – it’s not really an advanced engineering project….

I second what the other reviewer said…it cracks on its own…the worst part is, PUR said it’s not covered under warranty because it’s a “wear and tear” item. It sits in the fridge… They kept me going in circles and after the 30 day satisfaction guarantee expired, they then told me I could have returned it within the first 30 days but now it’s too late. For a product based on the razor/razor-blade business model (I’m sure the real money for them is made from the filters, not the pitchers), this is a horrible way for them to deal with the situation. Oh, and I had another one leak within a few weeks. The water is makes is great, but if I wanted crack I’d either call a cable tech/plumber guy over or go to Columbia.

It filters the water and renders it clean as per the specifications. The body of the filter is extremely cheap quality plastic. It cracked in the first week of usage and within a month it cracked really deep and broke. Its no longer usable. I use this product very delicately, inspite of which it cracks. Better look out for other brands.
