Despite what the advertising materials say, this filter did not fit on my Kenmore side-by-side refrigerator.

Work’s like all other filters of this type but it’s nice to have the Brita name.

I purchased this filter as a cheaper alternative to the “brand” name filter for my Whirlpool refrigerator. I purchased it in January, and replaced in with the “brand” name filter in March. I honestly didn’t think it would make a difference, but it did. The water tasted awful with the Brita, almost worse than from the tap. It had a strong chlorine taste. I finally decided to replace the filter, thinking that it may not make a difference (that something was wrong with my refrigerator), but it was an instant fix. Buying the Brita filter over the Kitchen Aid/Whirlpool filter only saved a few dollars, and definitely wasn’t worth it.

We purchased this replacement filter for our Kenmore side by side refrigerator that takes a 9010 replacement filter. We woke up the next morning to a kitchen floor full of water! It looks almost exactly the same as the PUR filter but the design is slightly different, and it leaks! We put the old filter back in and no leaks (so it wasn’t the fault of the refrigerator). We won’t be buying Brita again.

I was very skeptical to pay over $40 for a kenmore filter that I’ve been using for many years. This purchase was my first compatible replacement filter and found that it poses no differences to the taste of the water. However, the price is only 60% of the Sears’. It’s a good bargain
