I left the bottle sitting with water in it for a couple of days, and it seemed like maybe some saliva left in it reacted with the aluminum, making a cloudy liquid. I may try to return it. I’m afraid to use it again. I think stainless steel seems safer.

I’ve owned the Gaiam Grass Water Bottle for a month now. The sport top is absolutely terrible at dispensing water. The top mixes in a large amount of air while dispensing the water and provides you with a little amount of water for the effort. On top of that, I have washed the cap several times and it still has a plastic, powdery taste/smell that makes the water taste less than pure.
Second, the grass screen print is poorly made. The picture on the bottle is extremely pixelated, so much so you can make out out unevenness of the color several feet away.
The bottle says it should be hand washed and it means it. I have ran this bottle through my dishwasher twice and a small part of the print is already wearing away.
I would absolutely recommend against this bottle. I own other bottles with screw-off tops and I am much happier with them.

This is a great water bottle – a nice size, very pretty, and seems quite durable. When I was thinking of ordering it I read the reviews that talked about the difficulty of getting the cap on, and I thought people were just being whiny. Boy, was I wrong. Getting the cap to thread back on correctly is ridiculously difficult. Most of the time it takes me three or four (very irritating) tries. I’ve started just using this bottle at work, where I leave the cap off. If you’re looking for a bottle to carry around with you, I’d go with another brand. I wish I had.

I’ve had this water bottle for about two months and the tree design is starting to rub off with just normal use. I expected it to last a lot longer.

Whatever material the tree is made out of started coming off from the condensation… only a week or two after using it. It’s pretty, though. But, it has kept me from using it often.
